About Preggo

Comfort Meets
Connected Wellness

Preggo Pillow combines plush, ergonomically-crafted maternity support with non-invasive smart sensor technology. Resting comfortably on your side has never been this beneficial, giving you peace of mind with gentle wellness monitoring.

Three small sensors sit against the pillow — two at the abdomen, one behind you. Nothing to charge, nothing to open, nothing to remember. You sleep; it counts.

The problem

There is no magic number of kicks. That is the whole trouble.

When a baby’s movements drop, it can be the earliest warning that something is wrong. So women are told to count kicks. But the clinical guideline is explicit that no universal threshold exists — what matters is a change from your baby’s own pattern.

Which means the task is: notice a gradual decline, against a baseline nobody ever gave you, while half asleep, at three in the morning. People are not good at that. Not because they are careless — because it is genuinely hard.

“There is no uniform threshold of fetal movements above which perinatal morbidity increases.”
RCOG Green-top Guideline No. 57 — Reduced Fetal Movements
How it works

It learns your baby’s normal, then watches for the night that isn’t.

Sleep on it

Two sensors face the abdomen, one rests against your back. Whatever moves you reaches all three at once — so subtracting the back sensor leaves only what happened at the abdomen. Rolling over is not a kick.

It builds a baseline

Every night is stored and compared with your own previous nights, never with a population average. After two weeks it knows what a normal night looks like for this pregnancy specifically.

It tells you when to go

If movement falls well below that baseline — especially two nights running, which the guideline flags as higher risk — you get a plain reading and one instruction: be seen today.

Measured, not claimed

The numbers behind it

Tested against a mechanical phantom that produces repeatable movements of known strength, so detection can be scored rather than described.

29 / 30movements detected in a blind bench test
0false positives across 20 deliberate maternal movements
200automated tests, run with the race detector

What it cannot do. Preggo Pillow cannot tell you your baby is fine. Nothing worn at home can, and a device that offers reassurance is a device that delays care — which is the documented way home monitoring causes harm. It can only tell you that tonight looks different from your normal, and that this is worth a midwife’s attention. Assessment means a CTG and a scan, and that belongs to a clinician.

Rest easier tonight.

Set it up once, sleep on it, and read one honest line in the morning.
